Friday Finds - Going Green

Green is one of favorite colors at the Cupcake Wrapper HQ.
In fact when we choose which colors will make it into the range we always make sure all of our favorites are covered.
We are excited about 2 new colors for the new year - but it's a secret for now!

When we think of green, we think of:
The green the garden turns after a huge downpour (reminder Saturday night!)
A fresh Christmas tree adorned with gorgeous decorations
Green Allens snakes (we like red ones too)
Avocados, rocket, sugar snap peas and french beans
Getting slimed at the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards (our girls wish!)
Kermit

We think our green is just the right shade.
Goldilocks would be proud of us as it is
not too dark, not too light, it is just right.

While it looks great for Christmas, we also love it any time of the year.
Especially when styled with some of our op shop treasures.

Hip Hip Hooray!

On the weekend my hubby and I celebrated one of 'those' milestone birthdays.
As we both actually had our birthdays eariler in the thick of winter we thought we would delay the celebrations until we could 'guarantee' a warm balmy night.
Well let me just say if you want to break a drought,
let me organise a party for you.
We got no less than 55mls of rain over 24 hours
and it all started at 8pm on Saturday night.

The Cupcake Wrapper HQ was transformed into a Martini Lounge for the evening, complete with cocktail slushee machines, and of course two very weather proof tarps to cover both outdoor decks.

It was a fantastic night and everyone had a ball!
The lolly table was a huge hit, the cupcakes looked fab and we did the same guest favor as we had at our wedding - we gave a CD to our friends of the music from the night - The Moule Manor Martini Mix!

After the deluge...

Exciting Times!

Lots has been happening at Cupcake Wrapper HQ!
We have been busy, busy, busy.

Two weeks ago we took a quick trip up the Hume to Sydney (well we flew actually).
Neither of us had been there for a while and it was just wonderful to explore and enjoy the Harbour City!
We did our exploring in a manual buzzbox of a car - whizzing around all those one way streets and oh...those handbrake starts on those hills...eeek!

Our first stop was the divine Donna Hay General Store in Woolhara.
It certainly did live up to our expectations and we just HAD to buy one her beautiful milk glass stands.

We spent the morning meandering the Woolhara streets and checking out all those lovely stores you read about...Piggotts Store, Parterre, The Bay Tree, then we capped it off with lunch at Bills.

But of course we were there for work as well...we had better visit some potential stockists.

We visited several of these - all beautiful stores - and are hopeful of announcing some new Sydney stockists early in 2010.
Fingers crossed.

It was a great trip and we had a ball.

Who knows our next trip might be to the States or even Mexico!!
Stay tuned!

Christmas is a-coming!

WOW!
Christmas is only 42 sleeps away...not that we are counting or anything!
My Mum got the giant mixing bowl out a while ago to make her Mum's legendary plum pudding.  It was always tradition for my brother and I to have a few stirs with the wooden spoon and make a wish.  Then Mum would give it a BIG slosh of brandy and cover it all up, cook it and hide it in the pantry for a few months to 'mature'.
It is my favorite pudding of all time! Especially with lashing of brandy butter.
Mum even makes extra so I can have it for breaky for a few days - now there is my deep dark secret out!
OMG...so very bad!

We will be busy baking at Cupcake Wrapper HQ soon.
Making lots of homemade goodies for our wrappers for gifts.

We still have stock available if you would like to stock our Christmas wrappers.
Contact us now and you can have it in your store by next week!

Yippee!! We were in The Age!

We were very excited at Cupcake Wrapper HQ to hear that we
were going to grace the pages of The Age A2 liftout on Saturday 7/11.

I think we were the first ones at the newsagency banging on the doors to grab our copy hot off the press (well maybe not quite that early!)
'The Goods' is a regular spot to feature lovely goodies in and around Melbourne.
It was fantastic to see our 'blue stripey-horsey' image dedicated to Spring Racing week in, right there alongside 'the best food journalist in the world' Matt Preston!

Hopefully this will the first media spot of many!

And the latest Real Weddings Style is devoted to all things green.

Not only is it an inspiration for brides but anyone who just loves gorgeous things.
